Report: Chelsea offer Kante huge pay raise to deter PSG

London - French midfielder N'Golo Kante, labelled the "essential element" in the World Cup-winning side by Didier Deschamps, has been offered a new five-year contract by Chelsea, according to British media reports on Tuesday.
The pocket-sized 27-year-old dynamo - who recovered the ball more often than any other teammate during the finals in Russia - will earn £290,000 (€325,000) a week if he signs the new deal, reported The Times and the London Evening Standard.
Chelsea, who sacked Antonio Conte as manager despite winning the FA Cup after finishing outside the Champions League spots last season, want to ward off apparent interest from Qatari-owned French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The new contract would see Kante's pay almost doubled from his present deal - £150,000 a week - which terminates in 2021.
Kante was a pivotal figure in Chelsea's title-winning campaign in 2016-17 under Conte after joining from Leicester City for a reported £32 million.
His move followed an equally influential role in The Foxes' shock league-winning campaign in 2016.
Chelsea are also reported by both newspapers to be prepared to increase Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard's weekly pay from £220,000 - at present he is the highest wage earner - to £300,000 in an effort to dissuade him from moving to Spain with Real Madrid showing an interest, although the £200-million price tag may put them off.

Woman gives birth in restaurant restroom; baby offered free food for life and a guaranteed job when she's 16

A woman took an unplanned bathroom break at Chick-Fil-A and ended up delivering her baby there in the restaurant's restroom. Falon Griffin began having contractions on Tuesday. She and her husband Robert Griffin made a stop on their way to San Antonio, Texas’ University Hospital to meet up with a family friend at a local Chick-Fil-A store so they could drop off their two older daughters with them before going to deliver their baby. As they stopped, Falon realized she needed to use the bathroom. It was after 10 p.m. at the time and Chick-Fil-A was closed but the couple banged on the windows to try and get the staff’s attention because Falon didn’t feel like she could wait until they got to the hospital. Falon was allowed inside while her husband waved goodbye to the kids. Afterward, Robert went inside the store and was told by the manager that his wife was “screaming” in the restroom, only for him to learn that she was in the process of giving birth. Rapper Offset arrested for Gun and Drug Possession in Georgia (see mugshot)

Offset  of the hip-hop trio  Migos  and the husband of hip-hop star  Cardi B , was arrested on Friday afternoon July 20th on gun and drug charges after he and his bodyguard were pulled over outside of Atlanta.  The rapper, whose real name is  Kiari Kendrell Cephus , and his bodyguard,  Senay Gezahgn , were pulled over in  Jonesboro, Georgia , for the illegal lane change when Clayton County police searched his 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera and found three guns and less than one ounce of marijuana and over $107,000 in cash, according to Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB. The 26-year-old who is already on probation for a 2015 arrest on drugs and weapons charges, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a weapon during a crime. He also faces misdemeanor charges for marijuana possession and making an improper lane change.  His bodyguard,  Gezahgn , 27, was also charged with possession of less than one ounce...

19-year-old man stabs 18-year-old girlfriend to death in Edo

The police in Edo state have arrested a 19-year-old man identified as Junior Baba, for stabbing his 18-year-old girlfriend, Matilda Odiri, to death at his home on Akugbe Street in Benin metropolis in the Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State on July 7th. According to reports, Matilda had arrived Baba's house on the day of the incident with the intention of sleeping over. She then accused him of being unfaithful to her as she suspected he was keeping another girl. There arguement degenerated into a fight and in the process, Baba picked up his kitchen knife and stabbed Matilda. She died on the spot. Realising what he'd done, Baba carried her body and dumped it by the roadside. He then fled to the Auduwawa area of Benin city where he was apprehended. Confirming his arrest, the state commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, said Baba has since confessed to committing the crime. He added that the suspect would be charged to court soon....
