Agents with U.S. Customs and the Drug Enforcement Administration have seized $18 million dollars’ worth of cocaine disguised as banana heading to a prison in Texas.   According to reports, the Wayne Scott Unit Prison Farm outside of Freeport, Texas, received a couple pallets of bananas as a donation. When two sergeants went to pick up the pallets, they found the drugs.   “One of the sergeants noticed one of the boxes didn’t seem quite right, looked a little further, removed that box off the pallets, looked inside and saw something extraordinarily suspicious,” Jeremy Desel with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice told KTRK.   Hidden under bundles of bananas were 540 kilos of cocaine. President Buhari has approved the release of N22.68 billion for the payment of retirement benefits to former workers of liquidated Nigerian Airways Ltd.  The Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed announced this during a press briefing held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance Abuja today September 24th.  The amount which was approved by President Buhari is about 50 per cent of the N45.3bn entitlements of the former workers of the liquidated company.

Media personality,  Ebuka  has finally apologised for failing to show up for the premiere of AY's new movie ' Merry Men ' tagged ' #AgbadaChallenge . A man has been left heartbroken after his wife abandoned him for her married lover and the reason she gave only serves to worsen his heartbreak. He reportedly made the startling admission after having a heart-to-heart conversation with his father. A teenager has been charged with the murder of her mother and sister in what police believe was a failed murder-suicide bid. Rosa Aminta Maldonado, 44, and her daughter Rosa Lee Maldonado, 19, were found dead of apparent stab wounds inside their home in Lester,  Limestone County, Alabama, at around 1am on Thursday. Emergency responders also found a girl, 15, inside the residence, who they say was stabbing herself in the head and neck in an apparent suicide attempt. She has since been charged with two counts of capital murder in Limestone County, WHNT19 reported.  Officials claimed that because she is a minor, no other details will be released.
